Tata Tele Services Claims Misinterpretation Of Court’s Order

The GSM operators, led by Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), are demanding cancellation of Tata Tele’s GSM permits citing Court’s order. In February 2013, the Hon’ble Supreme Court had ordered quashing of all licenses issued on or after January 10, 2008 including spectrums allocated subsequently on issues of being illegal.

COAI pointed out that the said order applies to Tata Tele as well, as there is no distinction made by the Court in this regard. Tata Teleservices have released a statement saying GSM operators are misinterpreting the order of the Supreme Court in cancelling 2G licenses.
