Plea Against Ranbaxy Dismissed By Supreme Court

Public interest litigation against Ranbaxy for allegedly manufacturing and selling substandard medicines was dismissed by court. The court said that “Your entire argument is based on proceedings in US. We have no jurisdiction over it. Show us material that things are happening in India and it adversely affects right to life of people here”. The court also said that there is no material evidence against the company for said allegation and in absence of such material, it cannot entertain the plea. The court though allowed the petitioner to file fresh petition again if some evidence against the company is found.
