Government Bill To Amend Competition Act

In a move to strengthen the CCI, the anti-trust watchdog of the country, the Government on 10th December, 2012 moved a Bill to amend the Competition Act. Inter alia other amendments, the Bill seeks to confer direct powers on CCI Chairman to order search and seizure as well as adding new dimensions to definitions of various technical terms defined under the Act.
