FDI Concerns In Aviation

Rohit Nandan, CMD, Air India Ltd. in his letter to the aviation secretary has warned the government of the impact of liberalized FDI policy in aviation sector upon the domestic airlines. The liberalized FDI policy, allowing foreign airlines to own 49% stake in local airlines, would severely hurt the interests of the domestic airlines and would prevent the Indian airports from developing into international hubs.
