Sunil Bharti Mittal And Ravi Ruia’s Pleas Opposed By CBI In 2G Scam Case

CBI requested the Supreme Court to dismiss Sunil Bharti Mittal and Ravi Ruia’s appeals against their summoning by the 2G trial court. In its affidavits filed before the Supreme Court, CBI has stated that the “trial court had taken cognizance of the offences mentioned in the chargesheet and issued summons under the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act only after carefully going through the FIR, chargesheet, statements of witnesses and documents and also after application of judicial mind”.

CBI has argued that during the arguments on charge, both Mr. Mittal and Ruia will have right and occasion to defend their cases and SC did not need to intervene at the moment.
